This was it...the beginning of my technology learning at Michigan State University! This was the very first class I took, way back in the summer of 1998. I took this class because I wanted to kill two birds with one stone: help to renew my teaching certificate, and learn more about this thing called "educational technology." I used the disk image above because back then, I saved everything to floppy disks. I didn't understand file management then, but I did understand that saving was important! Here are links to some of the work I produced in this course. Hopefully, as you look at my current work, you will see the growth I have experienced on this wonderful journey! First Night: A hilarious paragragh (in retrospect) about what I hoped to gain from the course and written during the first night of class. The original document was in Microsoft Word 97 format. Present: A rudimentary Power Point presentation about using technology to enhance presentations. Oh my! The emphasis should be on "rudimentary!" Contest:Another Power Point presentation (this one a bit better) about how to survive being a contestant in a Toastmaster's International Speech contest. I was actively involved with this organization at the time and competing in these contests. Penny: A first attempt at creating an Excel spreadsheet. The assignment shows that if I start by saving one penny and then double the amount each day for thirty days, I would end up with over 10 million dollars at the end of thirty days! :-) If I did that, I wouldn't need a Master's Degree! I would be independently wealthy! :-) |
