| Appropriate Web Sites: Cool Science for Curious Kids This site invites curious kids to explore biology both on and off-line. Good for young students. They can learn about snakes, lizards, the dust we breathe, why Butterflies don't look like caterpillars and much more really cool stuff that kids will love! Home Experiments This is a neat site for kids of all ages, but I think particularly the younger ones will like this because it is essentially alist of links to experiments that you can do at home. You will find things like: Soft Water and Suds and Bending Water! This is a great site!

Example Lesson Plans: Planet WebQuest Planet Web Quest is a collaborative research project. Students are grouped into a "crew," assigned a planet, and given a variety of tasks utilizing the Internet. Following the given directions, the crew creates a mission patch that follows the outline and examples given. Then, the students print data collection sheets from the website and gather the required information (namesake, diameter, atmosphere, temperature, etc.) by searching several Internet sites linked from the Web Quest. Once the information is gathered, each crew member writes a rough draft report of their findings. Crew members peer edit and revise each other's paragraphs to create a final draft. Then, the crew links to the Virtual Postcard Site, types their final report, e-mails it to Mission Control (the teacher), and prints a copy. The final portion of the project is back at Mission Control where the "astronaut crews" will present their information and Virtual Postcards at a debriefing session.
