Mrs. Elliott's Elementary Art Class/ Famous Artist's

"The picture at the lower left shows boxes the fourth graders made. These boxes were made with toilet paper rolls, tag board and papier-mache. I asked the custodians around the district to save the rolls and send them to me. The students then put tag board bottoms, tops and papier-mached to strengthen them so they could hold objects. The students were allowed to paint and decorate the boxes with whatever was available in the art room.

The rest of the pictures are of the fifth grade students making scylpture based on the work of Alberto Giacometti, a Swiss artist. Students in Randy Schafer's first hour class cut and drilled bases so dowels could be attached. My students are now making a wire sculpture for a body. They will cover this structure first with plaster craft and then with celluclay. The final step will be to apply a clear finish."
