PROJECT SHARC:
(Student's Helping the American Red Cross)

For PROJECT: SHARC 8th grade students researched the American Red Cross website. They learned about the various facets of the organization, from how they help disaster victims to how they help military and families as well as what they do in the biomedical service. Technology Literacy students did the research, listened to the local American Red Cross Director and Coordinator for Disaster Services, produced PowerPoint slide shows and showed them to the Art Students.Art students created ceramic masks (some seen below) and all students wrote letters to local businesses as well as parents to invite them to "sponsor" a mask by making a donation to the Livingston County American Red Cross. Students raised over $800 for this event. At the end of the quarter, students participated in a "Day of authentic Assessment" and invited parents and sponsor to come and share as they showcased their work.
