Title: Buying Your First Car Students will do research and develop a plan to buy a car.
Grade Level: 10th & 11th Grade Subject: Computer, Business, & Economics
Goal:To increase and extend knowledge through information that has been synthesized.
Objectives:
1. Use the Internet as a research tool.
2. Create documents that will be useful in a decision making process.
3. Understanding that there are many factors that effect decision making.
4. Support a decision with reasons.
5. Communicate findings to a group.

 
Theory Connection/Description of Relationship

In this particular webquest the student forms and constructs schemas and models to represent elements of the outside world to buy a car. The assignment is multi-fact as it incorporates perception, attention memory and predisposed abilities and motivation. The student also has to connect new learning to prior learning to complete this assignment. The student is provided with a well developed outline or structure to help the students organize new knowledge. The webquest uses a variety of teaching methods to address different learning style, multiple intelligences, and individual student motivation. Students are to meet in cooperative groups to brainstorm and follow through the web links to complete the assignment and the student will present their car to the class through a power point presentation.

Students will investigate and apply expert systems, intelligent agents, and simulations in real-world situations. Students will collaborate with peers, experts, and others to contribute to a content-related knowledge base by using technology to compile, synthesize, produce, and disseminate information, models, and other creative works.
