Technology Coordinators
and
Virtual High School Group

Group Ideas:

  • We promise to support and nurture each other in this process.
  • District Home Page revisions and staff support
  • Learning new technical skills (DreamWeaver, Pop-ups, etc.)
  • Investigate other policies for showcasing student work.

Feb. 22 Discussion:

  • Marketing technology integration and classroom practices to the public is critical
  • Showcasing the effect technology has on inclusion kids
  • No virtual schools show student work/exhausted all resources (Keith)
  • Board and parent approval for publishing student work (Kristi)
  • More time to collect work from teachers and students and to support teacher technology integration...instructional technology...not PC/printer/network maintenance. (Carole and Kristi)
  • More administrative support (Kristi)
  • Knowledge level of administrative folks is low! (Carole and Kristi)
  • Communication! (Everyone involved)
  • Keith is looking at building a Distance Education Consumer Reports web page. (showcasing student work would be one catagory to look at)
  • Effective Staff Development leads to student achievement. We talked about looking at and using National Staff Development Standards for designing effective staff development opportunities.
  • Look for "Portfolio Standards"
