Welcome
to Colburn's Corner And CEP 813: Electronic Portfolios "Online Exhibition" Page |

The
focus of the Electronic Portfolios course is on showcasing student work.
The idea is to create a timeless representation of authentic work shared
with a significant audience. One way of preserving this work over time
is to create a place on the web for all to see and value. This is my attempt
at creating such a space for the work that my group has done, that I have
done and most importantly, the work that the teachers at Howell are doing
with their students. |

Keith Medlin, Kristy Elliott and I formed the "Technology Coordinators and Virtual High School" Group. Keith works for Michigan Virtual High School, Kristy is a Technology Coordinator for Cass City Schools and I am an Instructional Technology Specialist with Howell Public Schools. Keith's goal was to investigate ways that other virtual high schools across the country might be showcasing student work. Kristy and I wanted to find better ways in our districts to make preserving student work easier for teachers to be able to accomplish.Take a look at our Idea's Page to see how we arrived that these goals and what we did to ahieve them.

My main goal was to create a "Spotlight On..." feature on my home page that would allow me to spotlight a different teacher and his/her students work with technology each month. It has been a bit of a challenge to get all of the files from both the teacher and the students and then find the time to place them on the web. Ultimaely, I would like to update this every two weeks. The Teacher Work Page link takes you to my home page. The Student Work Page link takes you to the Tech Gallery, where you will see more teacher and student works.

It is funny. I am a saver! I have boxes and boxes of my children's work from their school days. They are older now and my youngest will graduate from high school soon. I would have no problems coming up with something to show how creative all of my children are. :-) The goal of this section, however, is to preserve some creative work I have done in my lifetime. This was not as easy it may seem. While I have done creative work in the past...it was difficult to find just one piece that I feel is worthy of sharing and preserving. Besides...this meant weeding through more boxes of old and sometimes smelly "stuff" to find something. Well...here it is... a piece of Carole's creative past...authentic work...preserved forever on this web site! Enjoy! :-) |
